All day long, people were setting up different parts of the downtown area for the evening's festivities. In this picture, this is the site where the ball will drop. In the background, behind the scaffolding, there is an old fire truck from which the ball will be dropped. The pickup truck on the right side of the picture is pulling the trailer with the ball.

This was taken at about 4:30 in the afternoon along the bike path that runs parallel with Winkler Avenue Extension, between Metro Parkway and Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard. I didn't see any gators on this bike ride, but I did see plenty of birds, turtles, and fish.

There are a lot of places with Edison in the name around here because Thomas Edison had a home here in Fort Myers. Maybe one of these days, I'll take a picture of the house and post it here.

Sun Harvest - the best place to get orange juice in Fort Myers! My favorite is the strawberry-orange juice. This store also sells a few flavors of soft-serve ice cream like orange and key lime, as well as the standard vanilla and chocolate. You can even get orange mixed with vanilla or key lime mixed with chocolate. They all taste mighty delicious! Aside from the juices and ice cream, they also sell a lot of other orange- and citrus-related stuff inside. If you are ever in Fort Myers, you should stop by this store located on Six Mile Cypress.

I have wanted to start this blog for a while, but kept putting it off because I thought I was going to be moving. Since I am still in Fort Myers and don't know when I will be leaving, I decided to go ahead and start this blog. If I move, hopefully someone else can take over this blog.

Even though the title says "Fort Myers Daily Photo," I may not be able to post a picture every day. I will try not to deviate from the theme too much though.
